There are now 1,000 large scale solar farms in Britain, and I was the lead ecological adviser for over 60 of them from SE and SW England to Pembrokeshire in South Wales. The aim had always been to enhance the site and offer continuity of habitat with surrounding fields. These temporary solar farms (which run for 25 years) are attracting flora and fauna and are becoming centres of biodiversity especially for pollinators in a chemical-free area.
